Twice a year, in February and August, new Sage 200 versions are released, which mean that older editions of Sage 200 move into ‘Sage end of support’ status, while another version enters a status of ‘extended support’. This is detailed in Sage’s support policy and is standard industry practice for technology companies.

How much does Sage 200 cost?
This is not a straightforward question to answer in that one Sage 200 implementation will vary compared to another. Sage charges using a Software as a Service (SaaS) pricing model with customers paying a monthly fee.
Sage 200 software costs will depend on a range of factors including:
i) Whether Standard or Professional version is used
ii) The number of users
iii) The types of users
iv) Additional modules used
v) Number of companies using the softwareThere will also be a range of implementation costs including:
a) Implementation of full lifecycle costs
b) Customisation – refining the solution to organisational specific needs
c) Data migration
d) Support: although cloud-based there will still be some (usually minor) support costs
e) Training – staff training costs -
Is Sage 200 an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System?
Sage themselves describe Sage 200 as “A system to run your entire business, including finances, sales, and accounting.”
Sage 200 is designed for SME’s and it is fair to say that for this size of organisation the software could be described as an ERP. However, Sage 200 would not meet the broader definitions of being an ERP like Sage X3 would. This is because Sage 200 does not have some of the functionality needed to manage global/international organisations.
-
Is Sage 200 cloud based?
Sage 200 Standard is a software programme that runs on the cloud, whereby you can access in any location, at any time, and on any device with an internet connection. It is appealing to a wide range of industries, including distribution, manufacturing, and construction.
Sage 200 Professional is not cloud-based, however CPiO can successfully host Sage 200 Professional in the cloud. Contact us to find out more about how the cloud can help report performance, better user experience and increased security. -

Sage 50 vs Sage 200
To put it simply, Sage 50 is made for smaller companies, usually those with 50 employees or less and 1.5 million annual transactions under their belt. Sage 200 is intended for businesses that manage more transactions annually and have up to 200 users. We would recommend Sage 200 as it has additional features (such as multiple warehouses, CRM tools, sophisticated customisation, and advanced reporting functionality) that are not included in Sage 50.
View the Sage 200 product page to find out the benefits and full capabilities. If you are looking to upgrade from Sage 50 to Sage 200 you can view this page to find out how CPiO can support your business. -
