MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015

As a SME trading below the threshold, we are not required by law to make a formal statement. However we do recognise that many of our clients will be seeking reassurance from us about our compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement – CPiO Limited

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. We are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.

Organisational Structure

We are a Sage Business Partner providing software, consultancy and cloud or hosting services to various organisations within the UK. We have a Board of Directors and employ approximately 65 employees.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include independent contractors - mainly based in the UK but on occasion based elsewhere - each of whom owns their own independent business, professional services firms (accountancy and insurance brokers), travel and hotel providers (airlines and rail companies) and then a range of suppliers that we use on an ad hoc basis for goods that we purchase to use within the business or on behalf of our clients.

Our Commitment to Combating Slavery and Human Trafficking

Given the nature of our business, we believe the risk of modern slavery internally or in our supply chains is low compared to businesses operating in other sectors. However, we do not intend to be complacent and will continue to work to improve our policies and procedures to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place. One of the reasons for this is because we are guided by our overall approach of doing business which requires high standards of honesty and integrity from our team.

We do not use any offshore employees. The company does not hold a sponsor licence and therefore does not recruit from overseas. Right to work and identity checks are performed on all new starters.

The company is committed to paying the national minimum and national living wage rate appropriate for the age of the employee including apprentices.

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we will review this issue on an annual basis.

We have agreed that one of our Directors, Rebecca Bradley, will have lead responsibility for our ongoing work in this area. We will ensure that our Board receives appropriate awareness training. The requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 will be outlined to all our independent contractors and suppliers.

Our employees will be encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business, with our supply chains or any supplier in accordance with our Whistleblowing Policy. We will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our own business or in any of our supply chains.
