One Event Management Limited is a diverse hospitality and retail catering company, providing services for high profile venues including Lords Cricket Ground and Manchester City Football Club. Founded in 2009, One Event Management has independently built itself from the ground up and now has over 100 full time employees, spread across several areas of the country.
In 2015, it became more apparent that One Event Management’s current Sage 50 software was not able to provide the necessary management of information and in-depth reporting that the business required. With various divisions of the company using separate and independent transactional processes, this lead to a lack of visibility and clarity over their financial position. Pulling information together from across all the businesses was time consuming and required an increasing amount of manual effort and greater reliance on Excel spreadsheets. Thomas Toland, Group Finance Director at One Event Management had previous experience of using multifaceted, dynamic software systems and therefore quickly identified that Sage 50 was limiting the business and elongating processes.
After considering many different business management solutions, including fellow Sage products, Sage 200 and Sage 300, One Event Management opted for Sage X3, due to its advanced group reporting and centralised purchasing abilities. The company felt Sage X3 would be able to handle its complex structure and provide a central hub of information for communications and financial transactions with customers and suppliers.
CPiO was ideally placed to partner One Event Management in the Sage X3 implementation, due to its wealth of experience. Furthermore, CPiO displayed a curiosity to learn about the company and gave One Event Management invaluable advice and guidance throughout the process. Thomas concludes, “Our decision was predominantly down to individuals within CPiO, who took the time to understand our needs and gave us a great deal of confidence that Sage X3 was the right system for us. I was won over by CPiO’s passion in the product, giving us the assurance that we were making the right decision.”
